Building a Bridge – Training for substance use disorder identification and treatment through different professional perspectives.

Sponsored by Region 10.

The Inaugural Building a Bridge training event will is a collaboration between policymakers, professionals and the individuals we serve to create awareness of unique cultural dynamics within urban, suburban and rural communities. Key stakeholders will have an opportunity to provide valuable information on working with individuals in their specific areas.

This training will help to bridge the gaps between individuals who are working with people suffering from substance use and related behavioral health disorders. It is designed to help professionals become more relatable to serving the disease and not the symptoms.

Drug and alcohol addiction is a growing problem in Southeast Michigan, with roughly 10% of persons aged 12 or older having a substance use and co-occurring disorder.

Join policymakers, community leaders, legal experts, educational and medical professionals as we learn to identify the disease of substance use and co-occurring disorders, discuss the effects of different cultural influences, and learn best practices for policies and treatment.

Professionals attending are eligible for 6.0 Continuing Education Units

Speakers will present subject matter expertise on:
