Flint is dancing Sunday, September 13th!

Hello, everyone–this is just a reminder that we will kick off our new season of contra dance this coming Sunday at Freeman School (4001 Ogema). We will have the pleasure of having Steve Gold call to the music of Flint’s own Homegrown Contraband.

Our new dancer workshop begins at 1:30 and if you are newer to contra dance, you will want to be there to learn the basics. You don’t need a partner, but do wear comfortable shoes, and dress in lighter clothing because we do generate a bit of heat when we dance. The dance will follow the workshop from 2-5 pm. Please feel free to bring a finger-food snack to share if you wish. Our cost this year remains the same, $10 for adults, $7 for students, with $3 off for first time dancers.

A second contra dance opportunity which is coming up directly is in Midland on Saturday, September 12th at their Community Center at 7:30 pm. (This month their dance is the night before ours, so you could make it a dance weekend.) Jerry Hickman (989-631-7153) will be calling so a good time is guaranteed!

This is a great opportunity for some good exercise and fun with a nice group of people. We hope you will join us.

All the best,
Cheryl
