New Playgrounds in Flint

We are excited to let you know that TWO NEW PLAYGROUNDS are coming to the City of Flint THIS August!

The City of Flint is partnering with Make an Impact Foundation, Community Foundation of Greater Flint, The United Way of Genesee County, Flint and Genesee County Chamber of Commerce, Keep Genesee County Beautiful, and FOX66/NBC25/CW46 to build a playground at Hasselbring Park on August 15th and another at Broome Park on August 18th. These two parks were chosen because of the high amount of children in the area without easy access to a safe and fun playground. The goal of these playground builds is to enhance these communities and the city of Flint by improving the quality of life for children and families who reside here.

In order to make this project successful, we need YOUR help! Designers at Miracle Midwest Recreation Company have created four different layouts for the playgrounds; two for Hasselbring Park and two for Broome Park. We are asking for community support to help us choose which of these four playgrounds YOU want to see become a part of Hasselbring Park and Broome Park (link below!).

We are so excited about this project and we wanted to ensure that we heard from adults and children alike; especially since children will be playing on the equipment. So, we had a wonderful design session with about 25 kids at the Church Without Walls (located right across the street from Hasselbring Park). The turnout was amazing and it was great to see kids engage in in their own community and letting their voice be heard.

Now, it’s your turn!

Please take a few moments to fill out the survey and let your voice be heard and counted!

The survey ends on June 11th, 2017 @ 7PM EST.
