Recruitment for MSU Research Focus Group

Dear Flint Resident,

A research team at Michigan State University is conducting a series of focus groups focused on “eating and food purchase.” The principle investigators are Rick Sadler, Josh Introne and Ashley Sanders-Jackson.

We are going to ask each group a series of questions about your community, what you eat and how you make food-related decisions. Your input is highly valued, and we hope you will participate in this important project. The focus group will take 1.5 hours. You will be compensated $30 for your participation.

As university based academic research, we are required to keep your responses confidential so your name will never be used in any reports related to the survey. We do not anticipate that our questions will be sensitive in nature nor do we anticipate that you will experience any harm from this study. You may change your mind at any time and withdraw. You may choose not to answer specific questions or to stop participating at any time.

Focus groups will meet in Room 204, Flint Public Library. You need to attend only one focus group.

The following are some dates and times that we are planning to run focus groups:

Tuesday, July 26th, 3:00-5:00 pm
Thursday, July 28th, 2:00-4:00 pm
Friday, July 29th, 11:00 am-1:00 pm
Saturday, July 30th, 11:00 am-1:00 pm
Tuesday, August 2nd, 3:00-5:00 pm
Friday, August 5th, 11:00 am-1:00 pm

If you would like participate please email us (foodmsu123@gmail.com) with which of these dates and times works best for you and then we will confirm with you our scheduling. If you would be willing, we would appreciate you sharing this information with others who you think might be interested in participating.

Best regards,
