The Healthy Flint Research Coordinating Center (HFRCC) is hosting its 2nd Annual HRFCC Research Symposium at the Riverfront Banquet Center, 1 Riverfront Ctr., Flint, Michigan, on Friday, March 15, 2019, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This exciting event intends to highlight Flint-based based research, share timely information and resources available in Flint, and foster connections for community partnered research.

Keynote speaker for this event will be Dr. Daniel Dawes, attorney and Executive Director of Government Affairs and Health Policy at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Dawes is a lecturer of health law and policy at the Satcher Health Leadership Institute. He is a nationally recognized leader in the health equity movement, and co-founder of the Health Equity Leadership and Exchange Network (HELEN), a national network of health equity champions in nearly every US state and territory. The topic of Dr. Dawes’ presentation will be Health Equity for All: A Past, Present Review of Political Determinants of Health.

This event will also include a panel discussion, which will examine evidence-based strategies for improving health outcomes for Flint residents. This event is free and open to the public. Breakfast and lunch will be served.
