“Listening is an act of love,” says David Isay, founder of StoryCorps. The StoryCorps project brings us extraordinary stories from every day Americans through interviews done between family, friends and loved ones. Since 2003, this unique oral history project has recorded more than 50,000 interviews in all 50 states.

Your Flint Public Library has been selected as one of 10 libraries out of over 300 applicants in the country to participate in StoryCorps @ your library in 2015! This is a time of transformation in Flint. It is a great time to collect stories celebrating Flint’s remarkable past and to imagine together what our community can become.

Find out how you can honor a friend or family member through the act of listening. Your interview will be recorded and preserved forever at the Library of Congress and the Flint Public Library.

You will receive a copy to keep and share.
