July 21 – The Black Church and the Civil Rights Movement

Rev. Dr. Kim DeWayne Yarber is Pastor of Mount Hermon Baptist Church of Flint, Michigan. With nearly 30 years of gospel preaching experience and 20 years as Pastor of Mount Hermon, he remains faithful to doing God’s will which is evident through his bible-based, doctrinally sound, life-centered, and energetic preaching style. The Mount Hermon Congregation has grown spiritual and in its commitment to tithing and giving to Kingdom building through pastor’s leadership.

His influence and experience, however, extends beyond the pulpit. He also serves as an instructor in the Africana Studies Department at the University of Michigan-Flint teaching courses in History of African American Religion and The Black Church and the Civil Rights Movement. Pastor is also an accomplished Small Business Counselor and provides advisory support to a wide range of community leaders and organizations. He is a tremendous visionary leader who takes his call to serve seriously and is guiding our congregation into a victorious place of ministry and growth.
