This is just a friendly reminder about your invitation to join us this Thursday, November 16th for a free film screening, food reception, and discussion featuring TWO TOWNS OF JASPER – the acclaimed, Peabody award-winning film about the aftermath of the court case surrounding the racially motivated killing of James Byrd Jr., an African American resident of Jasper, Texas, who was brutally dragged to death in 1998. The film provides insight from both the black and white communities within Jasper.

We invite you to the film screening and an important discussion about race in America today, it’s history, and how race plays out in our daily lives. The dialogue is designed to build bridges and work toward progress.

The screening is presented as part of the “Our America: Documentary in Dialogue” series that is a collaboration between Oscar-wnning series, POV/PBS, WDCQ-TV, and the Flint Institute of Arts. “Our America” is designed to inform communities about important issues, and to build bridges, by convening diverse voices within local communities. Conversations about race and relations in our communities are incredibly important and we hope that you will join us for this vital film and discussion.

**Please feel free to share this invitation with friends, community members, advocates, policy makers, and students within your organization and network.**
