Former Flint Farmers Market Project

Flint Artists Market Input Session on July 12

Flint, Mich.– Thoughts of the former Flint Farmers Market located at 420 E. Boulevard invoke fond memories for many of shopping for produce, meeting up with friends and enjoying tasty treats. Since the market moved to its new location on East First Street, the Boulevard building has been vacant. A local nonprofit, Communities First, Inc. is exploring the idea of transforming the space into the Flint Artist Market. The site would feature opportunities for entrepreneurs to display, sale and perhaps even create pieces on site. As their name suggest, the organization is interested in having the community voice incorporated into their development work. To facilitate community input, Communities First, Inc. invites vendors, artists, crafters, kids, residents and other interested parties to join them on Tuesday, July 12 from 5:30pm until 7:30pm for a community input session. The session will be held at the former Flint Farmers Market and refreshments will be provided. For those that are not able to make the session, a survey will be available following the meeting on Tuesday.

Please check the Communities First, Inc. website at communitiesfirstinc.org or their Facebook page for additional details.
