Help Genesee County Families Stay In Their Homes

Have you ever been trapped in your own home?

Don of Genesee Township has Multiple Sclerosis and had recently been bound to a wheelchair. His home didn’t have a ramp so he was trying to use the stairs to get in and out, but his legs were not able to lift high enough and he kept falling and getting hurt. Don’s wife Karen reached out to us and through our Critical Home Repair program we were able to put a ramp on their home. Don is now able to get in and out of his house safely and he can finally get to his garage where he enjoys spending time.

One in five homes outside the City of Flint in Genesee County are considered cost burdened. If we are going to realize our vision of a place where everybody has a decent place to live then we need your help.

We’re raising $5,000 as a part of our #Giving Tuesday campaign this year – or enough to build two more wheelchair ramps for local families in need.

Can we count on you? 100% of your donation stays right here in Genesee County.

Sincerely,
Greg Hull, Development Director, GCHFH
