You’re Invited to Participate in The Annual Point in Time Count!

Hello Flint Neighborhoods United,

My name is Kathrin Schuster. I am currently a BSW Intern at Metro Community Development.

We are currently preparing for our upcoming event, The Annual HUD Mandated Point in Time Count. This Count serves as a collaborative effort to assess and count those who are experiencing homelessness in Flint and Genesee County. The data collected during the count is utilized to advocate for future funding, to provide assistance and services to those in need. The Flint/Genesee County Point In Time Count is coordinated by the Genesee County Continuum of Care- A collaborative group of agencies working together to address homelessness in our area.

The 2018 annual Flint/Genesee County Point in Time (PIT) Count, will take place on Wednesday, January 30th from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

We are currently seeking individuals who may be interested in volunteering at our event. Over 60 volunteers are needed to canvass the county and count/survey individuals experiencing homelessness. A few hours of time can make a big impact in your community! There are several different positions available (mandatory training is provided for all volunteers). All volunteers are assigned to a team with at least one experienced member.

I have attached a Volunteer Flyer for our event. I hope you are able to pass this on to other individuals who may be interested in this wonderful outreach & volunteer opportunity!

Please contact myself, Vonda Willey or Curtis Mitchell with any questions.
